REVIEW: COLOURPOP Lippie Stix in Brink

November 5, 2015

It’s here – my first makeup review post for this month! Finally, I purchased my first item from ColourPop. It’s been a while that I’ve noticed this brand. I believe the lippie stix of ColourPop are already available here in Philippines through online shops. And just last month, while checking out the online shop @cebumakeuponline, I was hooked on the newly delivered shades of ColourPop lippie stix. There are lots of shades available and everything was pretty!  But then, thinking about how tight my budget was, I only have to buy one. So from all the shades I’ve been eyeing, I got my first ColourPop Lippie Stix in Brink

Whenever I buy a lipstick, I usually go for red or pink shades. I am more comfortable of these colors. But, I thought it’s time for me to try something else. I really did not know what to expect upon buying this nude color. I was not even sure if it will look good on me. But, so far I like it that I use it as my everyday lipstick for the past 2 weeks already.

Packaging

This lippie stix is packaged in a circular white tube and it has the name printed on it while at the bottom of it, you can see the corresponding shade. It is a twist up lipstick that you can easily apply. You just have to hold it like a color pencil or a marker, and you are totally good to color your lips. So easy! One of the things that I like on this, it’s very light and not bulky in the purse. Very space saving indeed!

Shade

From all the shades available, I picked Brink. It is a nude color that is also has a matte finish. It is basically described as warm dusty taupe. It is more on a brown hue but there’s a hint of pink. From the swatch above, I had it in 2 swipes and you can see how pretty the color is!
So here’s a lip swatch! This is how it looks like on my lips. There is a bad lighting during the time I took this picture but it is prettier in personal. I’ve been using it for a while and I can say that it’s long wearing. It can take up to 4-5 hours. Not bad right?

Brink is so far a good buy for me. It’s very light, not bulky, and very travel friendly when in terms of packaging.  It is pigmented and also has a very considerable staying power. Thus, it’s worth the money I spent. One thing though, I am not that fun of the scent. Some may like the smell but I personally don’t like it much. The name printed on the body of the tube also wears off easily. :(

Have you tried a ColourPop Lippie Stix already? What is your favorite shade? I would love to hear your comments on other shades. Let me know on the comment below.

  12. I've only tried one shade from this brand as well - it's Lumiere I think it's called. A mauve nude This one doesn't look bad and it suits you, too! I also agree with the smell, not the biggest fan either.

  14. I haven't tried this one yet. I'm not a fan of lippies with scent. It's somewhat bothering. The shade is pretty though.
